Chili Fest ’19 – The 28th Annual State Bank Financial Chili Cook Off

(La Crosse, WI) Bigger! Better! With 28 years of great community support the 28th Annual Chili Cook Off heads to Copeland Park Event Center in La Crosse to grow! More fun, more food, more activities for kids and a hope that more people come out to support the event.
Chili Fest ’19 is the same great chili contest that has been making mouths water (noses run and eyes burn) for 28 years is giving itself a face lift. But not just for the fun of it…although that’s a big part of it. “It has always been about kids,” said President and CEO Tim Kotnour, as he referred to the historic start of this event to benefit a new program in 1991 called D.A.R.E. “We believe the enclosed Copeland Park and Event Center/Loggers field, added kid’s games, bounce house, plus full concessions with hot dogs and brats will give families even more options for fun as they get out and sample chili and support this great event.”
To date the Chili Cook Off has generated over $260,000 and the majority of that has always been donated to the La Crosse, Holmen and La Crosse County D.A.R.E. initiatives. A few years back State Bank Financial began adding a secondary benefactor which has included: Habit for Humanity, GREAT, and in most recently the La Crosse Public Education Foundation. “It always has been and always will be about raising funds to benefit kids and supporting the efforts of individuals that impact children’s lives,” said Kotnour.
The event will be Saturday, October 5th and gates open at 11AM. Kids 12 and under are FREE and all others are just $8. This year over 25 area cooks will be competing for bragging rights and the following prize categories:
